Got to use the new reel tonight, thought I’d share my kayak since it’s my most important gear, cheap $300 field & stream brand sit in has done me well for 3 years now. Ready to upgrade but I’ll always keep this lil beast.

Looks good! Been wanting a kayak for a while now.

I highly suggest it. If I could do it again I would get a wider sit on top that I could stand in if need be. Being stuck sitting down sucks. But I’m fast and nimble which is nice but if you can’t feel your legs it’s not worth it haha!

Have you taken a look at the Bote rover? It’s a skiff, not a kayak, but still very versatile

I haven’t, right now I’m really leaning toward the Jackson Bite. It’s not outrageously expensive and the deck is HUGE.

If you’re looking to keep the kayak and want stability, have you considered an outrigger system? Would be cheaper and more badass to keep building from one reference point.

I have thought of that, this boat doesn’t really have a flat bottom and I’m going for more stability specifically to stand. If this was a sit on top that had options to build up I might have thought of that but it’s super limited with the sit in kayaks.

I have kept my old ones when I have upgraded, that way I have always have a spare if a friend wants to come along.

That’s precisely my thinking. I have a 3 year old daughter who will also grow in to it just fine.

I have a Perception Pescador pro 10 , it is a great boat but I have my eye on that Bite too!
From one kayaker to another, sweet ride you have there. Love my Bonafide kayak. Stability is great and able to stand and ride normal boat wake.
Really loving my field and stream Blade. Picked it up at basically half price. Been fishing the daylights out of it. I cut in two rod holders instead of going the crate route. I have a five gallon bucket withe a water tight screw on lid for that spot
Look at a Gheenoe they are a nice boat and easy to get into small water !
