Hi guys and gals. Most of the time I use a extra heavy 7' rod with a fast tip on my bait casters and I am wondering if I am losing or not feeling the soft bite. Like everyone else I feel I should be catching more fish. I do use medium light on some but not often. Any input.

I prefer 7 foot Med Heavy bass rod, fast tip. Works for me.

Hi Tom. I use a couple medium/fast spinning rods for soft baits like TR stick worms, Wacky rigs or unweighted creature baits. A MH/fast one for dropshotting and jerkbaits.
A medium/moderate baitcaster for crankbaits, a MH/fast for jigging, and a heavy/fast for topwater and frogs. I agree, we should all be catching more fish, LOL.
Good luck with whatever you choose, but I like the mediums with 10lb braid and a 8lb fluoro leader the best.

That's my excuse to buy more gear😂
M/H w a fast tip should cover all your needs IMO

Al I did exact same thing.
Now I have more than I need.
Then again if the price is right I may buy something else 🤔

Agreed there. Most of my fishing is MH 7 foot, from bait to cranks. I might go a little heavier on frogs and top water, and lighter on finesse.

I don't use the Xtra heavy at all...med and medium heavy...I feel like I get better lure action and Med Heavy I've found to be ok on my jig sets.

Medium Heavy on most should do the job. I like medium for cranking and a swim baits. But as always, rods are like guns and ammo; you can never have too many or too much.
