A decent day on the ice

The boys got out today on the local ice and did pretty well with some gills. Still too little for me to feel safe(3”) so I simply observed from shore. Oh to be young and invincible again.

Wow, those are some really nice gills.
Can't say as I blame you for stayin on shore with only 3" of ice.
I would go out on 4" but I think that's bout the minimum for my comfort. πŸ€ πŸ‘

Yeah Steve, I no longer feel too safe on 3”.

I was chomping at the bit to get out there Fred but with my weight and girth didn’t think it too wise. After tonight’s temps may have to give it a go tomorrow. Rest of the week we’re having a warmup.

Glad they did well and made it back safe. 3” is not enough life for me.
I went out for a little bit today and caught nada. Had a solid 4&1/2-5&1/2 inches.

With you on that J, I’m not comfortable with at least 4” of good solid ice.

With you on that Mike, 4” of good solid ice is my minimum.

Well unfortunately I'm stuck doing a motor right now but I did do some practice casting in my front yard does that count didn't catch any snow Bass
