Hello Commander,
As a San Diego County (border city) resident, may I ask for consideration:
My city is just under 50% of direct Mexican heritage.
I perceive this as a good thing.
As a NYS t***splant to California of 20+ years, my bad to have taken French (Montreal not far away at the time) rather than Spanish.
As someone who spent most of their lives on the north east coast, where I perceived we had white folks, black folks and a Puerto Rican here and there and not a lot else, I came to California and was not prepared to see the plethora of Asian and Pacific Islander immigrants contributing to our society.
California offers way more than English v. Spanish inputs. We got Philippine (Tagolag) among a host of others.
Am I correct you see this as somehow not a good thing?
Please help me understand your consternation with the United States of America, a multi-cultural community, offering multiple language offerings.
"We" weren't the first here and "they" were not speaking the King's English.
Best to you and yours.
Stephen

Very commendable on admitting that 50% are of direct Mexican heritage.
A question how many are legally in the United States.
