I'm a old fart that will 75 on Feb 2nd I live one the St Johns River at Powell's Fish Camp. I love to Fish but I seldom catch anything. Is anyone else from Astor on this forum

Good morning, this is Richie. I live in The Villages and also have a house in Leesburg on Lake Griffin,(Harris Chain of Lakes). We are about 40 miles apart
I haven't fished the St John's much. But, I would think the fishing technique would be the same as the freshwater lakes in central FL. My go,-to baits are a top water frog thrown in grass or Lily pads and a June bug worm on a Texas rig. The worm needs to be fished slow in the cool weather.
