Did you know that they use to race "Whale Boats" in the Olympics? Not the Racing Skiffs.
They stopped after the 1936 Olympics as to many of the racers died in the races.
They were "Big Dudes", it was common to shatter a 2 inch Oak Oar at the start of the race.
Heart Attacks, Embolisms, My Dad was Coxswain on the Navy 1936 boat, they came in 3rd.

I read the book a few years ago. I was very impressed. It was a very interesting story.

Have not seen the movie, but read the book which was very good. Hoping to see movie soon.

Kandy check out " The Cokeville Miracle " on Amazon prime. I just happen on it last night. Heart warming one there.

Thanks for the rec but don't have Amazon Prime, only Netflix and thinking of dropping that. Movies are too depressing. Just watched the one about the soccer team from Uruguay in a plane crash. Had to fast forward. Eww

I know what you mean. 3 nights in a row pull something up, watch 5 - 10 minutes and search for something else. I go by the rating # of stars. No way a 3 star, 4 stars are a maybe and 5 stars hope they got good actors in it.

Time to go back and find the old classic (Hang Um High, Catch 22,Sound of Music, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, early Star Wars, etc). I don’t even know the names of most of today’s stars.
