This is what chicken livers is supposed to look like. Iβve already cut it in to bait size chunks. I bought it today at piggly wiggly. With all the rain the channels may bite tomorrow.
Fresh and never frozen and they will hang on a hook, it is what I get at the fast food chicken joint. Those look mighty firm Mike, been my experience you can freeze them 1 time after that the turn to mush
I got some at Walmart couple weeks ago that looked like a liver slushy
Might take 1/2 dozen and put them in baggie with some garlic see if there is a difference between the two.
The ones I get will hang on a single hook very well.
Walmart and the ones you got today are like a rotten hotdogs compared too tomahawk ribeye.

If you Salt Cure them, they stay on the hook when you cast them!
Once they hit the water the salt is gone.
Learned that from one of the guys on here years ago. LOL
Use NON Iodized Salt, Walmart has it.
I have been away from catfish locations for some time, but have been exposed to other fish types and techniques. When I again get to catfish, I would like to try a different technique. That would be making chicken liver sacks with netting, just like salmon egg sacks. I also want to again try (very successful my last and only experience) dough balls made with pureed chicken liver used in place of water to make the dough. Has anyone else tried these methods and with what success?

They look fantastic.
Quick question for you. Did you ever read about salting them?.
I read n article about it.
Salt then liver salt liver n so on.
It toughs it up n supposed to retain flavor.
I did some yrs ago but never went catfishing. Too hooked on bass at the time.
Also put some garlic salt in with it.
I really need to get in on some cats this yr.
Good luck brother ππ£
