Greetings Kin, I’m in central Minnesota. Where is this lake? We have struggled to get good ice here! Many life threatening issues in the north, ala Red Lake by Bemidgi. Getting some freeze up lately and a few ATV’s venturing out in our area(Alexandria). Be careful, and check with the bait shops in the area as to ice conditions!

Thanks, we were up at upper red when the first group broke off. The big cut foot is part of Lake winnibigoshish.

Kinhod,
25 years ago I fished Cut Foot Sioux a few times in the fall of the year with a group of guys. I have never fished it in the winter. It was a good walleye lake and since it adjoins Winnie, it provided some options for easy access. Good luck with fishing and from the little I know, you will find some good fishing.

The lake is connected to Winnibegosh
Yes the ice this year has been crazy. We spent a few scary days at upper Red the week the first bunch of fishermen had to be rescued from ice that broke loose.

Kinhod, Never fished either of the Cutfoots, that said…; I have fished Winnie, Bowstring, and BallClub, none through the ice but for walleyes and pike those and others in that area are excellent. See where the locals are fishing, keep a respectable distance and start drilling!
