My name is Jerry. I am advid surf fisherman who loves to surf fish from Ft Fisher to Hatteras. I am truly looking forward to a chat or a chance to stand on the beach and fish with anyone willing.
Today is December 31, 23.
I was wondering if there are still any whiting or drum in the surf in the Ft Fisher/Kure beach area.

Hey Jerry, I was over in Wilmington NC a couple of weeks ago and there was a couple of guys just leaving from fishing from the bank with sand fleas. They had 2 coolers filled to the top with whitings. There was a guy 100 yards down fishing with shrimp and he had only 3 whitings in his bucket… sand fleas are clearly the better bait. Tight lines and good luck!
