I’ve never seen them but I remember in the 40s and 50s the bubblers pencil thick and about 4 inches tall. They are available on the internet. Fishandrods

We had plastic stars like that with a hole in the center to fit on the light socket and act as a reflector. They were pretty.

We had those twirly things on our tree when i was a kid. We'd hang them right over a bulb so that the convection would make them turn. Our bulbs were 7 watts each, so I'm a little bit dubious that the star in the picture turns over the tiny bulb shown. After using them for several years, ours gave in to wear and tear and would hardly work even over a hot bulb.
