Well guys, Ben and I got out on the river bout 0700 and to the fishin grounds bout 0730.
Was kinda cold and foggy when we started but burned off bout noon.
We managed to catch 5 fish in the morning but only kept two 19 inchers.
Bout noon we started to catch a few more and upgraded the 19 inchers to some fatter 19+ inchers. LOL.
We kept catchin fish and most were small keepers.
Finally, we caught our last two keepers that were bout 20+ inches.
All in all we caught 20 fish today and I believe at least 10 or 11 were keeper size. ( over 18") Great day out.
Caught our last 2 fish bout 2:30 pm and called it a day. Got off the water a little after 3 and got to Bens house bout 3:45.
I got on the road home bout 4 and here bout 5:15. Nothin like filletin fish in the dark.
Got all done with that and cleaned up and finally sat down in front of the computer bout 6:30.
Havin fresh fish tonight and the rest I'll give away tomorrow.
I took a pic of the 3 fish I brought home. I filleted one for Ben at the dock with my pocket knife. Then left my knife on the dock after we loaded the boat.
Y'all have a good night.

Nice catching Steve and Ben! That sucks about your knife buddy. Captain Ben should keep a filet knife on the boat, since you guys keep some fish. Thanks for sharing my friend.

That's alright, it was a cheap POS knife. But you could shave with it.
I think it was bout 5 bucks and I had Gorilla Glued the pins so it wouldn't fall apart any more.
I always took it out on the boat just in case I dropped it overboard I wouldn't cry. LOL.

Nice fish Saw and you two caught a bunch of them.
Not sure if you will see that knife again. Someone could be telling a story for many years of the really nice-sharp knife they found on a boat dock.

Oh, for sure I won't see it again BUT, it really was a crappy knife. Literally maybe worth 5 bucks.π©π

I keep a cheap, $20 filet knife in my truck along with a sharpening stone for just such a situation. It also works if I'm going to use cut bait while fishing.

Yeah, I'm too cheap to even spend 20 bucks on one.
I have a small 6" fillet knife in my fishin bag that I usually have with me but I forgot the bag yesterday.
Maybe that ended up bein a good thing. However, the fillet knife only cost me bout 10 bucks so it wouldn't have cost me much more to loose that one either.
