Some of you know that I have started a second restoration of my 1983 Lund American Super Pike. When I bought the boat six years ago, it was headed to the scrap yard, but the old '93 Johnson that was on it ran. Wanting to use it as soon as possible I focused on the inside restoration and only put a coat of paint on the hull to improve the look. When I parked it for the winter this year I stripped it to bear aluminum. When I finish I hope to do a pictorial of the work, but some asked about my progress.
The old live well has been a constant challenge to manage the many cracks and leaks. I found an insert that was the right size but was refused the right to buy it because I am not a dealer. The Lund factory could not help because the boat is so old, and they would prefer me to buy a new one. So that left me the only option to make one myself out of storage toats. So here are pictures of this part of the restoration, before, removed and where I'm at so far.
The 40 year old live well
The empty hole
My home made replacement

We replaced some of the flooring and put new carpet in 3 years ago.
Nice work with the live well. That's some good ole outside of the box ingenuity!

New carpeting is what I'm considering for mine this winter, as well as some new electronics. I wonder if I can get it in the garage in the spot for my truck.

It's good thing that the memories don't take up too much room.

I've been looking for a good used 18" digital radar dome myself. The electronics market is crazy expensive!

And more to come. Have to start planning soon.
Thanks for all your words of encouragement. And Flytier, our old boat has always taken presidence over the vehicles. Wall to door, but I put the trailer on casters so I can move it sideways and get the truck in the garage too.
