So they did the first trout plant on Wed. and it was a beautiful Thurs morning. As most of you know I am the "Old Bass Guy", but I said what the heck! Hooked the boat up and went out for a cruise around the lake. Got there at 7:30 am to a balmy 38* and only one other boat at the ramp. Water temp at 56-58. Went over to where they planted the fish and gave it a shot. Saw about 10-12 shore fishers, and 1 boat and 1 kayak. Tried everything in my arsenal for about 1 1/2 hour to no avail. Did not see anybody catching, so to avoid the skunk decided to go after a bass. Managed to land two dinks, so the critter did not get in the boat. While cruising, saw the two eagles that sometime frequent our lake, very cool sight seeing them sitting up in there favorite tree right next to each other. Just drove around for awhile enjoying nature and the many birds out there this time of year.
Returned to the ramp around 11am, and one other old feller was putting his boat back on his trailer. Chatted for a bit and got some inspiration as he was older that me at a mere 82. He got skunked but it didn't matter as like he said "Got out of the House" That is just what us old guys do. Enjoy life as much as you can you young fellers.

Great post and beautiful looking lake. Catching fish is always the goal but good to see others enjoy all the nature around them regardless of success!

Great post and beautiful pic Garey! I read they did a study somewhere on the health benefits of fishing, basically it was just about getting out of the house and on/near the water that was the benefit, I agree!

Looks like a beautiful day on the water Garey. You had a nice cruise, a couple skunkbusters, and a nature show. Sounds like a perfect day to me. Thanks for sharing brother.

Nothing to post Steve. Had one follow-up on a swimbait, and one bite on a dropshot. As soon as I set the hook, the 15lb braid got sliced, above the leader. Probably something sharp on the bottom. It was blowing 15 mph and made it difficult to fish. I gave it 2 hrs and called it a day.
