Older German word

I'm not exactly sure of the time-line of this old German word perhaps some of you know?
What does the word Weddersinnes mean?
I remember my Great Grandma using this word.
She came to America about 1910. I remember her telling me about Ellis Island. After her death I was able to visit Ellis Island and found her median name as well as the name of the man she would eventually marry here in the United States. I never got to meet my Great Grandfather Franklin Dose ( pronounced Dozey ) he died before I was born.
Enough reminiscing.

Claimed to predate clocks. Still in use in several countries.

I believe it means counterclockwise.
My German friends used it rarely but did use it. I can’t guarantee that it’s “Hoch Deutsch”. It could be slang.

Don't know about the German meaning but to my Scottish kin it counter-intuitive (as in 'it doesn't make sense' like the sun rising in the west).

I think that the older meaning referred to the direction/motion of the sun.

I think it could mean "see you later" or something like that.

Congratulations to Jer and Papa D.
Both of you are correct.
Jer for the German version and Papa D for the Scottish version.
Grandma Dose ( pronounced Dozey ) always said my Uncle Barney was a waddersinn. Meaning he always went his own way. Contrary to the norm.. A malcontent if you will.
Now that I think about it all of us stagers are waddersinns.
