Not many folks in those areas. Even fewer with internet access. Even fewer yet who know of this forum. Even fewer who travel there for fishing. Isolated and lonely. Not surprised that no one's posting.

I know the internet is really poor on the eastern shore. Going into some of the small towns is like going back fifty years in time.
A nice quiet area but tough to get any info on fishing

Why? Virginia's Eastern Shore isn't quite in the middle of nowhere. But you can see it from there.

If you head north a few miles you'll come to Cherrystone Camp Ground. They not only have a bunch of piers but Captain Ray Cardone runs a charter boat there. I've known Ray for 40+years and he is good at what he does and very honest as are most on the Shore.

I've launched at Kiptopeke some and can't remember if they have a pier or not. You could also go to any bridge and if you have a cricket wire mess holder, bait it with shrimp, 1 or 2, toss it out 4 or 5 feet and sit back and wait. You'll draw blowtoads in and using small long shanked hooks tipped with a small piece of shrimp and a tiny split shot you can catch a bunch of them. Don't worry about their size. Do NOT ICE them down, just throw in a bucket of water. To clean simply cut about 3/4" behind the side fins but don't take the head off. With pliers grab the spinal cord and grabbing the head strip the skin right off. You're left with two pieces of meat one on either side of the backbone. Now you can ice them. Cut the meat off the spine or not, no rib bones, cook and enjoy. In NYC blow toad costs more than tuna or lobster. Mike
