I don't know about Mayberry gone quite yet 69. Little town I left in NC still has the pig pulls getting the town folk together. And here in this little town, true the back door is open for Mayberry to let in the 21st century but roots are still strong among some locals.

However, once the past is just that, is their a time expectancy that you mention for that embracement? I am in no hurry what so ever.

Plumb. Let me add something about your small town life today. I live 20 from Columbus. Not my choice, but am close because if younger family. When you get away from the big city, you are in rural areas. These areas are very conservative in thought and daily life. The more rural you are the more grassroot the individuals are. Big city life is usually inhabited more by the so called intellectual elite, a product of our higher ed programs. The rural areas are predominately people who work with their hands and are sk**led workers. There IMO is the difference in the possibility of living somewhat in Mayberry. The farther you get from big city the more redneck people are considered. Do That In A Small Town. Listen to them complain/cry about that song. ’

It’s usually generational. Our parents tolerated the free love era. How far has that gone? Divorce, illegitimate birth rate, cohabitation instead of marriage, etc. Society was shocked when in the closing minutes of Gone With the Wind, Bret says personally I don’t give a damn, and left Scarlet. Now vulgarity and nudity reign in the movies and now on tv. Same sex parents on sitcoms, always a q***r scene included, even in the last season of the Last Kingdom two men swapping spit. Bedroom scenes very explicit, even where no connection to the plot. If you have two actors, one is male and the other female, you can almost bet that nudity and sex while be shown. Q***r parades with men wearing only bikini underwear in open public with children watching And Plumb, it’s going to keep going down hill. And girls sports are a big concern???

Thought for minute I was sitting in a history class 69. I remember well Gone with the wind and just two nights ago we had my niece and her husband over for dinner and we were making fun of the way my parents acted in that free love era.

Yes, downhill everything seems to be going. And I do not mean to come across as r****t here, but the black and white couples on nearly every commercial we find annoying. I have no problem with mixed marriages but TV makes it look like every couple is one or the other. With 15 or commercials in a row we count the same race couples for entertainment.

Now the one same race couple they could remove is the over weight guy in a speedo with the daughter just saying Daddddd. How embarrassing that would be in the real world.

We speak the same tune 69, Raleigh NC, Baltimore Maryland big towns. New Windsor Md, and Belhaven NC, small and slower pace. However they move in to the small towns country wide because it is quiet but yet want the city conveniences and ways. Book smart and common sense stupid is my take.
