My name is John I'm 55 years old I've been fishing since I was a child. And I grew up in Long Beach California, fishing saltwater, in my later teens I moved to Arizona fishing freshwater. I've since moved back to California Northern California San Andreas area, I'd like to do some largemouth bass fishing, but when I try to find and buy waterdogs I just get the run-around nobody can give me a straight answer I don't understand it, then come to find out, Fish & Game tells me they're illegal here, but yet California has lizards here they have water dogs. They have salamanders here aren't they the same thing and why can't I buy any tiger salamander 🐅 water dogs does anybody have any answers for me and can somebody please help. I tell you the Large mouth just love em.

New Melones reservoir south of Angels Camp has great bass fishing. Go over to Glory Hole Sports and they will set you up with everything you need. And New Hogan lake just west of San Andreas has awesome stripper fishing. Then go east into the Sierras for some nice fly fishing for trout.

So true YankeeBastid. Spent uncountable wonderful fishing days in my youth on the Delta, SF Bay, at Kennedy Meadows and Emigrant Basin in the Sierra, Coffee Creek wilderness area in the Trinities up north, and the Drakes Bay area. All in the late 50's to mid 70's. Glad I had the chance then.

I bet that there are a number of things that you use to do that you can't blame the govt. because you can't do now.

Nope, at 73 I have slowed down a lot, but I can still get in my Pontoon and fish. But now I do it in South Carolina....great fishing here. We have everything, Salt, Brackish, Fresh, rivers, lakes, Ocean, Harbor. SC is easy on the rules compared to our West Coast friends while still protecting the fishing environment.
