Welcome to the Stage Keith. I never spent much time out that way, but send a PM to Theegoat, he's out of Stonington. Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Keithkudej, Welcome to the Stage. I don't do the type of fishing you do any longer, so no help here. Time finally overtook me physically. But, best of luck to you. The Thames is a great river, as I'm sure you know, and Squami & the Block are also first rate. We have a good group of CT anglers here, who are quite willing to exchange information and help when needed. I'm hoping to see some tuna pix from ya next year !
Welcome Aboard π .
Hey Keith,
LMK what you want to fish for. Right now, Blackfish season just ended in CT. RI is still open for Tautog until Dec 31st.Use green crabs. And there are still stripers in the rivers. Ive been surfcasting at Bluff Point in Groton with mostly soft rubbers. Wild Eye Swim Shads 5β. Browns work best right now aa they are feeding on Hickory Shad. Iβll send a few pics.
Lmk if I can help you. βοΈ

My 10yo grandson has been slaying them all summer and fall. White cat was taken this summer at Gardner Lake in Salem and the 40 inch Striper in the Thames. Stripers were killing the red headed 6 inch white Yozuri deep divers here.
Everything is catch & release with us

George, love the pix o' your grandson. Looks like he's quite an angler. Is that dock some along the Thames ? Looks like a place I could access for some boatless fishin'. T I A π₯ .

Hi Gary
I am a member of the Huntington Anglers Club. You are welcome to attend one of our meetings on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the American Legion Hall on Mill Dam Road in Huntington. Our members have been fishing the sound for many years and itβs a great place to learn about fishing in Long Island Sound. The Sound has some good fishing opportunities at certain times of the year and you can catch Fluke, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Porgy and Blackfish.
Tom
Thanks Tom - I will show up at the next possible meeting that I can - I appreciate it! Merry Christmas!
Gary M.
Merry Christmas! The January meeting is our board elections so you are better off attending a meeting in one of the subsequent months. We have a speaker from Cornell in April that should be on interesting.
Good - April it is - Tks. and Merry Christmas! Gary M. Halesite, NY
