SEE FISH PIXS * LKN NC * HUGE HYBRID STRIPED BASS * SEE PIXS BLOODY HANDS * PIXS MONSTER FLAT HEAD *
Sunday 11/26/2023 Lake Norman North Carolina * Seagulls and Loons all over the point at Channel D9, Dan and I haven’t seen that many birds in one place in quite awhile * KABOOM, KABOOM both rods doubled over and we could tell these weren’t little fish… 2 nice Hybrids. The very next pass KABOOM another nice one… while I was lipping the fish out of the water, the fish decided to put up a fight, treble hook in my thumb… ouch, ouch, ouch. Dan grab this fish, fish goes nuts again… now the fish, Dan and me all have treble hooks in the fish and our hands… Fish was 1st off, real nice fish, but slid off back deck into water without a picture… 5 minutes of needle nose pliers and bleeding all over the boat… we were all free of treble hooks. Next pass, kaboom (lower case) Dan landed a monster flathead catfish.
I have thought in past whether human blood would make good scent.

Nice catching Duck, but be careful for Gods sake! You may want to consider a lip gripper to control those bad boys before you unhook them. Beautiful fish, thanks for the pictures.
Yeah, I agree Fred, that would have been very helpful and I have one of those.. unfortunately I left it in my Saltwater Bag, may need to head over to Bass Pro @ Concord Mills Mall and pick up another one.

Looks like it was a memorable day of fishing! Very nice fish!
Hey are the smallmouth bass biting at Lake James…
Nice fish! To bad about hooking yourself . Looking forward to moving out there in June.

NCDuck - The times I have gone out on Lake James in the last couple weeks it has been tough fishing, catching some off the points or on the flats. I don’t troll with live bait so maybe that could produce more. The lake is very low due to the drought.
