I put my kayak in next to Parker Dam on the South Shore yesterday morning by myself and paddled North into some breezy conditions. Never had a hit all morning so ended up about a half mile south of the dam caxting in a small cove. I looked over and saw what I thought was a big catfish on the bottom, and as I got closer I noticed it was the head of a horse or probably wild Burro. The Granite Cliffs in the area are very steep and it would be easy to fall in if trying to get a drink of water. It makes you wonder how the head got severed from the body?
You can see a Burro in the upper center of the mountainside photo I took on Saturday.

Yep see the burro. Looks like it’s been in water for awhile.
Maybe lion was hungry. I have seen a burro fight a Cougar off with its front feet. There are a whole bunch of wild burros in the High Desert.

When is a good time to fish lake Havasu from shore? And what location? I visit family there frequently and would love to take a break and fish a bit

There's several large docks you can fish off of out at Site Six on the island, also Mesquite Bay has two different docks you can fish from. Spring and early summer seem to be the best times for fishing for all types Bass, Stripers, and Sunfish. I fish out of a kayak 4-5 days a week, enjoy being out of the water. It's getting chilly especially in the mornings. But it was nice and warm by 1:00 today, mid-60s with no wind.
