Had surgery on my hand last month so I’m on the sidelines for fishing, crabbing and hunting. Sitting here going crazy so I’m thinking what can I do. Well, I can smoke fish from recent trips. Filled the smoker with some German browns and Sockeye I got from a buddy up north. Amazing what you can do one handed when you want or need to. Another 3 or 4 weeks and I’ll be back to normal fishin and huntin.

Oh yeah, I can taste them from here. Hope that hand soon heals up, in the mean time you’re making the best of it.

Thanks K Krew. I think you fish halibut around my area? The bay and the gate? You do any sturgeon on the bay?

I feel for you fellow fisherman. I had my left shoulder replaced Oct 26th and in a sling with a pillow, pita! Can’t do much with one arm. Seeing the surgeon on Dec 1st hopefully it comes off and the many days of PT are ahead. Had both rotators repaired one in 97 and one in 2003. Now they replace the ball and socket. Just trying to pull up your pants isn’t easy. Things could be worse! I can’t wait to get back on my boat. Here’s hoping you’re back to normal soon catching more to smoke. Getting older is bad enough but having surgery’s that limits what you do sucks!!

I remember my dad joking about smoking fish, he asked how do you keep them lit?
I think I'll stick to smoking my cigars.
