The good news is I had a pretty good day fishing until I got home. The Jet water pump went out shortly before I got home which means we have 4 units without water tonight and until I can get it replaced. I'll call the owner and see what he can do to get us a new one I have one open room at the other half that we can all use to shower and for restroom needs everyone is able to understand the predicament we're in and share..... Back to fishn' I started out fairly quickly this morning but by 2pm the bite just about disappeared and the wind picked up pretty good NNW wind which still rocks this lake a little. I was bundled up and stayed warm all the time I was out, sun really helped today. So my final count is 27 perch and one gill, had some good sized ones and kept a few smaller ones that swallowed the hook. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

Quite a impressive catch there Andy and beautiful pic of the launch area. As for the jet pump are you talking shallow well or deep well. What are the symptoms?

Sorry to hear about your well, hopefully it’s fixed ASAP.

Nice bunch of fish you caught. I see your docks are off the water and the lake is drawn down, just like the lakes around here. Still many fishermen, like yourself, going out on them. From what I have been told and pics I saw of muskie’s, it’s a good time for muskie fishing until the ice forms and stops boat access completely. Thanks for sharing.

Good catch. The pump just hits with everything else that can go wrong.

Howdy Bob, it's a shallow well, and a 110 v 1/2hp pump , it's old . The symptoms are as follows , about a week ago it blew the breaker and gave off a very strong electrical burn smell. ( The winding I assume. I reset the breaker and manually started the switch at the pressure switch to build up pressure. In doing so it gave a small flash out of the motor but continued to cycle ok .... Untill today I believe the motor's shot ...... Your advice ??

DV, they took the docks out the 15 of October. It's a shame because some of the bank fishermen liked to use it to get out a tad deeper the launch area at this end of the lake is only about 3'deep some guys wade out and fish now. The winter pool is 2' lower. They're just about there now. . I go out toward the channel and it's about 4' +or - and that's where I'm finding the bigger fish. If the wind would corporate a guy could maybe get 50 of them but I only had a few hours before it picked up to 11 mph with gusts out of the west which makes this lake roll like a big boat wake. Last year we were having shore ice. Not many days left. Thanks for your comments.πŸ€—πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

You did what I was going to suggest with the pressure switch. Does sound like the motor since it has some age to it.

Thanks Bob, since there was a very strong burnt electrical smell the first time as well as the one ark flash it's most likely that the windings got fried. Not sure if there's a reset on jet pumps?? That would be a pleasant surprise right?? . Anyway still waiting to hear from the owner about the replacement. He seems to always want to go cheaper rather than less expensive when replacing major parts. I just need him to buy it and get it to me so I can install it, and that's the part that can take the most time. This is basically an emergency repair that needs attention asap . Guess I'll remove the other one and hope for the bestπŸ€ͺπŸ€—, . ....
Quick question? This pump has a single line input. I have a pump that has two inlets in the front, other than that it appears to be the same thing as a regular jet pump. Possibly from a swimming pool. Could a guy get away with plugging one of the inlets ??? All else seems to be the same. The bottom pic is the pump that is broken. Any advice my friend? πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
