Took me a minute to find a school of perch but my third anchor point I got them located. I don't use a fish finder just old school read the water and watch the birds. Got 24 keepers some were 9" but since I was going to fillet a bunch that didn't seem to matter. Got one keeper gill. Caught 4nice LM Bass didn't take pics of them has my phone in my jacket not on my holder,
and one hudge cat . I didn't get to measure it but I did get it on the scales 14.9#s. and this came in on my ultralight rod , had a moment trying to net this one my rod is like a coat hanger and bent the tip close to the reel. What a battle, this is the biggest I've caught in Pymatuning. Wind got a little iffy a few times and the lake started rolling pretty good had to go to the Lee side for awhile . Temp not too bad with lots of sunshine so I stayed comfortable all day. I'll take it when it's there.πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΊπ²πΊπ²

Another fine haul of perch Andy, that cat on the ultralight must have been quite a ride. Iβve broken my fair share of rods but unfortunately none of them on fish.

Graywulff, I sent him back home he was quite dosile once I got him in the net and he was really old looking. It would be a shame to end the life of something that majestic, heck he might be as old as meπ₯΄? at least in catfish years!!!! I now keep smaller ones around the 20" mark to bring back for one of my guys here, he eats them as fast as I get em. This one might possibly have tasted like the bottom of the swamp?? π€ͺ. I let him go and didn't realize the line was wrapped around his large tail and fortunately he didn't zip away or things may have gotten really interesting short, quick, and in a hurry!!! I had to rent him and undue the hook now stuck on the big Y of the tail . Saved having to set up a whole new slip bobber rig. I wonder how long he's been in this lake? πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΊπ²πΊπ²

bknecht, Thanks, I understand the breaking of fishing rods, my method of madness seems to be donations to the Fishing Gods vs. actually breaking them . That way no loose parts stuck in a corner somewhereππ. This ultralight is a cheap $20:00 ugly stick with a very old gold plated Pfleuger spinning reel. But it seems almost indestructible. Got 4 bass on it yesterday also and feels like fighting a monster Everytime. I don't let my rods anywhere doors of autos they ride in the hatch of the SS 127 that way I never forget my rods. Thanks and continued good luck to you . πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΊπ²πΊπ²

Thanks, it's always interesting when fishing in a kayak. I do think about you and J from Cleveland when I'm fishing for freezer fish . You guy's had it going on at the Eagle for them . I seem to wait till the last minute to work on themπ₯Ά just trying to squeeze out the last hope of fishing before the ice moves in. We had ice last year at this time around the shore starting to form at night and by T-Day there was 30' of shore ice. So far this year so good but man that water is cold!!! Keep forgetting to get a temp check it's in my back pack behind me and hard to turn around and dig thru my pack with all these clothes on . Save those moments for reaching for more bait or my coffee thermos, you know something very important,. Are you put up for the winter or still able to get out?? πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΊπ²πΊπ²

Great catch Andy
Thanks Flytier, Always good to see your comments, I've always been one to try to get that "one last cast in" and hopefully it adds to some entertaining moments to share with everyone on the stage! π€. Hopefully you can get out some more this season too. Also a good time to enjoy the family hunting activities and fast approaching Holidays. Then settle into the tying vice or painting lures. See we never quit fishing in our minds Flytier, sometimes we're just not on the water. "Just sayn'" take care till the next timeπ¦
