Went out 11/12 despite the forecasted 5’ swells with 1’ wind waves. They got the wind waves correct, but the swells were 3’ or less. Met up with my Alaskan fishing trip leader Joe and co-owner Karel at about 6:15 am at the Berkeley Marina. Had our first set completed at our “honey hole” by 8:12 am. Three hours later and some minor reset locations we had our 3 person limit +5. Culled the smaller ones and headed in at 11:15 am. Just south of the Point Bonita light house and directly out from the Golden gate we encountered a wayward, floating orange traffic divider (see pic). We attempted to drain and haul it aboard but were unable due to the weight of the water it had taken on. We radioed the Coast Guard on the boating hazard and they requested we text them pics, did so and got confirmation of receipt and that was that.
Another great day out of the bay!!
A big daddy!
The haul
Joe and the conditions heading in.
The boating hazard (pretty visible though)
SF skyline and the Berkeley pier.

Awesome catching Denny! Looks like a great day despite the poor forecast. Yeah the obstacle is clearly visible, but I'll bet money that someone hits it anyway. Good job reporting it anyhow, hopefully it's removed soon. Thanks for sharing your day buddy.

Thanks Fred! We’ve got 2” of rain forecasted for the next 3 days and that will bring all kinds of logs in from the rivers. It’s going to be that time of year many boaters will loose their lower end and/or props.

Sounds good. I'll keep my 'in-case-Denny-calls Go Bag' packed.
In the interim I'll try to pick up some more carcasses.
