Gotbout nice and early so I could have a good day of fishing. J was going to meet me at rhe lake at daybreak. I got there but he was a bit lite per a broken ground connection on his trailer. I started working my way up the shore line checking each of our spots on the way. Picked up a big school of baitfish on the Garmin, so I figured I'd give it a shot while J got the trailer fixed and the boat to the launch. Picked up a nice channel cat off the bottom but no stripers.
When J arrived we went on up looking for crappie. Tried every brush pile we could find, but no luck. Went back the the striper spots where we had found crappie in the past and tried there. Didn't expect stripers, but that's what we found. J ended up with a bunch of shorts and one keeper. He had the magic spot, I couldn't catch one from 20 feet away. Did manage a fat bluegill but I had to settle for a catfish deskunk.

Beats the stripy critter every time buddy. You should have put the fenders out and rafted up with him.
