Hello I am a retired veteran who loves to fish. I would like to find some good fresh water fishing in the DMV area. Not opposed to traveling out. But am new at it and would appreciate any help I can get like type of rods needed for fresh water and bait to use. Thank you inadvance

Hello Wnwills. Retired and a veteran myself and not that far from you. Just getting into fresh water fishing too because I prefer salt more.

As for local spots plenty of reservoirs around and I have been going to Pennsylvania mostly because the fees have been better in that they do not charge to enter the reservoir like they do around here.

I like my 6' and 7' light weight rods with 10 or 12lb braid and bait usually consist of lures and can't go wrong with live worms.

Are you a boater, kayaker, or shore caster? I am into kayaking.

Hi Will
I'm retired, live near you in Severn Md and fish the local tidal waters for pickerel and bass. If your interested in going out with me sometime please email me (steve@theshuberthome.com). I have the boat, all the equipment, and licenses and would be glad to show you what I use and you can try it out. You need nothing but to link up with me.
