Welcome to fishing stage. On the Kings river right before Pineflat dam if you fish a salmon egg under the bridge right before the trimmer store you’ll get trout.
Cast up stream let it drift down, reel in and repeat. I’ve caught a lot of trout there. There is a nice fishing spot just to the east side of the bridge.

I haven’t fished in Louisiana since the 1980’s when I was stationed at Ft Polk but fishing was good everywhere we tried.
Toledo bend was amazing fishing.

Welcome Fisher girl. Hensley Lake in Madera is also good fishing off the shore with bait or from a boat
