I am new to the forum and live near Loveland. I started fly fishing 30 years ago but have for the most part put down my fly rod and picked up spinning and bait casting gear. I really like large mouth bass fishing but since this is somewhat limited in Colorado I enjoy catch panfish, small mouth bass and trout ( most all catch and release).
When I recently retired I traded in my 14 foot duck boat boat a larger fishing boat and get out as much as I can. I fished Carter Res. yesterday and did not catch any fish, 1st time fishing Carter so am looking forward to exploring the clear water since it is close to my home. I was the only power boat on the water and did see a couple kayaks. I spoke to a fisherman that was fishing from shore and although he did not have any luck yesterday, he did catch a few trout earlier in the week fishing with bait on the bottom.
Pueblo res for big Wipers and trout
John Martin bass and catfish
11 mile, antero and spiney mountain for big pike and trout
Twin lakes, forebay, green mountain, turquoise
Big pike, trout and big mackinaw
Quite a bit of urban fishing in metro Denver also
Good luck
