You know, I never knew this before, but giving away fishing gear is almost as much fun as buying it. Often you can go and help the person you give the rod and reels to, and fish with them. I am about a month from 89, and don't fish now.

It is sort of like a neutered tom cat, I am not able to do anything, but can still teach it! Just Sayin...RJS

Mr. Robert, I can relate to that I have grandkids that I have bought them fishing gear and showed them how and where to fish🎣 the oldest grandson when he graduated we bought him a Jon boat and trailer with a 9.9 motor and a new tackle box full of lures and a new Abu Garcia 5500, this is a picture of the boat and trailer (I buy and sale boats) so the cost was minimum and after that he said where's the new truck πŸ˜‚ (he was kidding) that was three years ago and this year there's another grandson graduating 🎣🎣 so I have a few boat's I'm working on now so his will be ready and waiting.... A Matter of fact he has helped me on a Bass Tracker with a 40hp Mercury, that I have been redoing and he really likes the boat he has no idea but that's probably going be his for graduation πŸ˜‚ here's a picture of the Bass boat🎣

Mr. Robert, you are a good example for others to follow. My wife and I have gone the other way with our spreading the joy of fishing. We have a few less candles on our cake so we have taken groups of people from care facilities, bringing back basket loads of memories of their younger years.
Yep, joy should be spelled F I S H I N G.
