I received an email this morning from a fellow stager who had just moved to the Metroplex a while back and had asked for info on Lake Lewisville. I shared what small amount I had and he stated he had gone to the places I had advised and had been somewhat successful. And this is good. But, what I wanted to share with you was what my grand dad had shared with me many years ago. I'm almost seventy nine and my fishing days are mostly behind me. When I was a little boy, my PawPaw took me fishing often. He farmed here in north central Texas and was able to fill a young boy's dreams. We fished with cane poles and red worms, dug out behind the barn. My PawPaw and I were sitting on the dam of one of the stock tanks one day and had caught a load of bream. I asked him if we had caught enough. His reply to me was: "Son, catch as many as you can and when you get old, you can always remember them." That was seventy five years ago and now that I'm in my yonder years, I'm enjoying my remembering. So, folks, what I want share with you is to try to help others out and catch as many as you can. Then, someday, you'll be in your remembering years also. Love all of you and God Bless!

Nice write up lil mutt, only pushing 73 here and those memories of 30 and 40 catches in a single day are coming to mind more often. Good to know they are called yonder years and pray fully hoping for a few more before the rod gets passed down to the grands.

Well, plumbob, with that kind of moniker you are most likely self sufficient as I surely once was. But, as the pages fall from the calendar, we change also. Enjoy the warm days of fall, for surely the cold winds of winter will blow. And they come much more quickly than we realize, my friend.

Change already in the air here lil mutt. Actually paid a guy to put the deck on my house last year. Can't tell you how many I did for customers over the years and now just got to listen to the body, for it does talk to us in many ways.

As for those cold winds of winter, it is nice to look out the window and say: Nope, not going anywhere today

Great read! Please try to find somewhere to fish, and/or someone to fish with. It's so good for the soul!

My granny taught me how to fish and she's the only person I know that no matter how big or how small she giggles like a little girl every time she caught something.
