Well guys, Ben and I went out to the Napa today and it was a very CHILLY start.
We got on the water a little before 0700 and had our first fish, a keeper and probly the biggest fish of the day at 5 pounds, about 10 min later.
We went back up river and did the same troll 3 times and I caught a fish on all three passes. We went back up and did a 4th pass and Ben misses a fish and then a min later he hooks one. As I'm reelin in I get one on also so we doubled. 4 passes and 5 fish in a matter of bout 10 to 15 min.
We decide to leave those fish and get on out to the fishin grounds.
We get out there and the water's a little low to fish the slough right away so we just waited for the water to come in a little more.
I end up catchin 3 fish in the slough, 2 were keepers but we only put 1 more in the box.
Ben hooks a nice one but it came unbuttoned shortly afterwards. Then he lands one a little later. It's not quite 0900 yet and we've already caught 9 fish.
We go out of the slough and fish out front of it and I catch another 3 fish and one was an upgrade so we released 1 and still have 2 in the box.
We notice a fish breakin the water near shore so we get just down river from it and Ben casts to it and hooks a really nice fish. After a short battle he lands it so we upgrade once more and we have two 23 inchers in the box.
We try castin more but could only come up with a couple more smaller fish. I did hook a pretty heavy fish and it made a run, shakin it's head and off it came. Wish we could have seen it.
Couldn't find any more castin so we went back to trollin. Right away, Ben hooks another 23 incher and we now have 3 in the box. It's 11am.
We put a line back out and kept trollin but never got another bite. We got off the water bout 1pm.
We caught 16 fish, 9 were keepers and we kept three 23 inchers. Two were 4 1/2 pounds and the third was 5.
Just 1 pic of the 3 right before filleting.
