The clowns in the house finally chose a speaker. Took them long enough. They are so far gone that a lot of us will not v**e for any republican because the extreme i***ts are taking the party over. We badly need another party.

Actually we bDly need some viable candidates. We need a " NONE OF THE ABOVE" button on the b****ts.

So very true! I have questioned each party’s choices for many years…

Term limits is a possible solution.

I agree took way to long, don't know much about Mike Johnson but what I have read he seems Ok to me. Time will tell.

Seems like hardly anybody knows much about him. I saw one of his fellow Rep House members say that they had to look him up with Google.

I suspect that could be why he got v**ed in -- nobody knew anything that they could object to.

As long as he can unify the Rep majority and get bills passed, ratified by the Senate and signed by Biden, I'll support him.

As you said, time will tell.

I don't think it is an easy job, like herding cats.

Mike J. is from Louisiana, and I am hoping he has a lot of Cajun Common Sense.

Like someone said, I guess we will see.

I can see helping some but not the billions we are giving, I think Europe should be doing the most hell it's in their backyard.

Nothing against Louisiana but look at the previous 3 governors. Think they have and are serving time for illegal activity within the state government.

Here's some info that helped me form my position and sort through the conflicting rhetoric pertaining to support for Ukraine.

Mitch McConnell interview on Face the Nation:

https://youtube.com/shorts/slgsZnYnF3k?feature=shared

Breaking Defense feature article --"Most ‘aid to Ukraine’ is spent in the US..." The first section (about the graphs) is not as interesting as the latter -- if you get bored, fast-forward a bit. I really liked the explanation of why some sources for “aid to Ukraine” spending cite $60 billion or $70 billion while others cite $113 billion and the conflicting numbers used for European contributions. I was also unaware of the fact that the package totals included money that would would be spent even if wasn't included in the Ukraine package and after we stop -- would just come out of another bucket.

So are all Republicans are corrupt because of Nixon?

It's a rhetorical question, please don't answer it.
