Well our trip was coming to an end. What a better time to stay in a condo and relax. Wapato Point Resort is right on the lake, and our boat was docked right below our window. Fishing was really tough for our target fish. We were skunked with the exception of a few small not targeted overly aggressive small mouth bass. We had no problem with not getting fish, as we were using musky size lures looking for a real trophy's. Note: an six inch bass will hit an eight inch lure. We fished the first day for smallmouth. Caught enough to provide a couple dinners. We then switched to big fish without luck. The last day we concluded with catch and release smallmouth to leave the lake on a positive note. That was a good choice. The water was glassy and a light shirt was all that was needed. And the bass were cooperative. It reached 70 one day. That was last week. They have snow this week.
my boat off our deck
Roughing it. A bit of late morning fishing, lots of eating, a few football games and real rest.

A relaxing ending to a great adventure. Sorry you couldn't find a couple Muskies to cap off the catching, but Smallies never fail to entertain. Thanks for letting us tag along.
