DEVOTION #44 “NO LIMITS TO GOD’S LOVE”

Good morning and Happy Sunday to all Fishing Stagers and guests!

In Devotion #40 (a few weeks ago), we talked about how, as Christians and a part of “The Church”, we all have an assignment/responsibility to build the Kingdom of God. We also know, as humans, we WILL make mistakes because we are far from perfect. So… how does this affect you in completing your assignment or accepting your responsibility?

It’s a common theme in many arenas of life: You only have one chance to get it right. On television game shows, you get one chance to answer the question correctly. In baseball, you get one chance to hit the game-winning home run; in basketball, you get one chance to make the game-winning free throw. Occasionally, do/overs are allowed-
like the “mulligan” shot in informal golf games.

Where would we be in life if God gave us only one chance to get it right? Perhaps Peter thought he had committed an unforgivable sin:

“And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭75‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Satan tempts us into thinking we have exceeded the limits of God’s grace when we make wrong choices. Yet Paul wrote in Romans 5:20, “But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” That is no excuse for willfully sinning, of course.

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

But it is a reminder that we can never exhaust God’s forgiveness.

If you make a wrong choice, confess your sin to God and receive
His forgiveness and restoration

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There are no limits to God’s love.

The following short video message by Pastor Robert Morris, is a perfect example of how God can even use a mistake-prone person to fulfill His purpose - even Peter!

Thank you for reading/watching, and may God bless you greatly!
Remember to pray for Israel… 🙏🏻

So very true. As a child growing up in the early 60’s ( born in 1958) we didn’t have much but much more than others had. When I look back over my life now. I know it was God who carried us. Each day now I praise him and honor him for the way he allows me to live. I would be lost without him.

Yes - after two weeks of trouble, we finally found out what was going on with the Google YouTube’s and just went straight to YouTube to copy and paste. Still don’t know just what they changed but as is many times the case - more than one way to skin a cat! 😂

All so true. My brother and I worked on the farm. My parents grew up on the farm. My father worked his way through School by himself. He said there’s got to be a much better life. He join the Air Force continue School and became an officer. I am sure that was hard but he made it. He retired and decided to plant him a garden. We still worked in the garden. Very hard but it paid off. All of us ( 1 older brother, 2 younger sisters) went on to college. My older brother is an engineer and served in the Air Force. I finished and join the Army. Continue my education and got my Master’s in communications. My oldest sister is a head nurse soon to retire and my baby sister recently graduated with her Doctors in Education. So yes it was God. My mother went back to School and became a teacher and now retired. It seem we didn’t have much but I realized we had much more than others had. My parents pushed us to do better and be better. We were taught to love one another. If one has a problem/ issue then we all do. I learn the true value of respect for others. No matter what color, creed or background. People are people. They have feelings just like we do. I couldn’t wait to get out of the house because I felt I could do all that was required of me. Man did I learn that what was happening to me was shaping me for my future. Bottom line my parents did it with the help of God.
