Getting ready to do some walleye fishing what will be the best method at this time of the year. Bottom bouncers or jig or both. I have done both and love them both. A little insight from you pros would help.

I've been asking the same thing for months.

I fish in the same areas. My source tells me the waters of St.Claire are still too cold. I agree with him after fishing Algonac Boardwalk last week.

If you like Perch and Catfish, go to Selfridge AFB. Anglers there tell me you have to catch the right day to get decent size perch or you'll end up with tadpoles and slow says. This species and location is not my cup of tea.

I'm waiting for the Walleye run, from Lake Erie, northbound through the Detroit River, into Lake St. Claire and its river towards Marysville and beyond.

I have fished the Detroit River and the St Clair River for a while. What is your question?

Yes, usually a one oz jig is the ticket right now on the river. From what I've read blue ice minnow and black wyandotte worm were working good. I personally haven't been down there but success has been good the last week or two. Mostly lower river.
