Ribbon/ Cutlass Fish/ Out 2 days fishing the lower river ( inside the Whitestone Bridge/ 35 feet of water) trolling for Stripers/ Blues. Kept catching Ribbon Fish/Cutlass Fish ( on small diving Rappala). These are often considered only for bait offshore however, after reading about the species I found they are prized in the Asian countries. Decided to cook one. Excellent!!!!! White meat, similiar to flounder either fried or cooked in butter/ oil. Big Surprize. Be careful, their teeth are nasty, like a big Musky!!!! Water temps 64 F, wind light, one hour after the high tide, Could not find the blues or Stripers!!!!
Thank you for the information. They are definitely ugly fish.

True, but after catching 5 of these I decided to see what they taste like. Pleasantly surprised!!!! Similiar to flounder, but a little bony.
