Power pro braid

I bought a spool of PowerPro braid last week and every inch of the line either had small knots or bunched up spots in the 300 yard spool. I don’t think there was a single yard of the line that was smooth. Anybody else had this experience?

I'd take it back and exchange it as defective.

I've used power pro for years & never had anything like you're describing. I'd agree with the rest of the gang, take it back or call the power pro folks about your spool. I'd bet they replace it right away. I don't know what kind of store you bought your line from but I learned a long time ago to only buy line from a store that sells lots of line. That is better assurance that I'm getting a fresh spool.

Sure is not normal. Like the others said take it back, if they won't exchange it go t power pro and tell them. It would really help if you still have the box for the numbers on it. Date ect. So they can run the batch down.

Years ago PP used a coating , this bump issue would occur when coating incorrectly applied .
This can weaken line since it relates to a heat treatment.
However I’m sure they will replace spool no issue. Shelf life on braid is not an issue , I’m using some that 20yrs old , tests as good as new ! Of course using it can contribute to it weakening , however simply cut back the line that looks bleached or frayed and ur good to go. Also bear in mind that even in weakened state braid generally way over tests mono , so failure is not always the case !
Cut back or rotate top to bottom when required you should be fine !
