"The bosom of America is open to receive not only the Opulent and respectable Stranger, but the oppressed and persecuted ... if by decency and propriety of conduct they appear to merit the enjoyment." —George Washington (1783)

Fellow Patriots, on this day in 1916, the USS Arizona was commissioned at the New York Naval Shipyard. She operated in both the Atlantic and Pacific for 25 years before being sunk by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor. Some 1,177 crewmen were k**led aboard during the attack, and about 1,000 sailors remain entombed there today. The price of Liberty can sometimes be high. —Mark Alexander

Amen to that!

As always, freedom is never free! My thanks to all military people whether they served in the past or are currently serving.
