Greetings. Been watching the post for a while and find them very interesting, so I wonder if anyone in MIssissippi has a favorite lake to bank fish for cats or other? I have a few old timers suggest going to Lake Mary. Thanks and give me some advice for a 76 year old duffer.

Welcome to the Forum, Sitn. As you may know we do have a few Mississippians on the Forum. Maybe some are from around the Lake Mary area.
I'm in Pascagoula Mississippi so I'm not sure where you are.

I grew up in Texas, then moved to N. O., LA. In 81 I moved to MS. I now live outside of Osyka, MS. Been pond fishing for cats and the other day I caught a 24” and a 28” cat. The next day I caught another 24” one on shrimp which seems to be the best bait for me. I tried worms and then some chicken livers. I might try a treble hook with the liver and bread combo since I have trouble keeping the bait on. I have a 9’ graphite rod that cast a good distance with mono line so I bought a spool of 20# braid that is equivalent to 8# mono and will try that next.
Run up to Lake Grenada, home of the three pound Crappie. Fish around the bridge columns from the bank with minnows and crappie jigs.
i love pascagoula!! we got great people dont we wesley?
