Hey gang, I’ve got a small fishing kayak and after capsizing in Lanier due to a wake boat, I’m looking for some quieter lakes to fish. I go to Juliette frequently and just tried Seed Lake on the Talulah River. Do you have any other suggestions
For Georgia or any of our neighboring states? I work remotely, so I don’t mind driving a few hours and staying several days.

Look on You tube and make you some out riggers to help stabilize. I did! No more turnovers. I used bright blue pool noodles and PVC pipe. I have always wanted to fish Lake Lanier. What have you caught there? Bobby from NC

Spotted bass, hybrid, stripers, and crappie are what I do best with. I’ve caught some massive red ears, too. Good eating!

Hi I live near Dahlonega Georgia.
There is a small lake supplying waterto the city
Electric or kayak only no gas engines.
Google Dahlonega to see lake.

If you are looking for a relaxing, peace and quiet places to fish, try a reservoir. I usually go to Hollis-Lathem or Canton Reservoir. There are no gas operational boats allowed in these reservoirs. You may not catch the fish you been catching in Lake Lanier, but you won’t have to fight boats and their wake either. You can google both places for information and location.

I appreciate the tip. When I kayak fish, I definitely want peace and quiet.

Lake Varner in Walton/Newton County
Bear Creek Reservoir out on the athens side of Statham
Charlie Elliot Reserve in Newton county are great places in my opinion for large mouth, hybrids and catfish
