When I was a kid growing up in Naperville, Illinois (when it was still a sweet, small town), my parents would take us to a place called Shakey’s Pizza. Shakey’s did a thing (can’t recall if they did it all the time but we only went when it was happening) where they would play music and project the lyrics, and everyone would follow the bouncing ball and sing. It was a hoot, even for us kids. My parents absolutely loved it and it made them really happy. I forgot all about this until you mentioned it, GF. Thank you!

Betts we're in Grayslake, far north suburbs of Chicago. Yes Naperville is huge now.
But Shakeys Pizza. Oh that was good.

It reminds me of the Mitch Miller show, he had the bouncing ball also.

Shakeys! Remember MoJos? Makes me feel a little sick just thinking about them now, but we sure ate a bunch back then.

Not sure if they were call MoJos everywhere, but the Shakeys up here had these fried potatoes - thicker than chips so they were still soft in the middle. I can still taste the grease.

I think they did Betts - we were never that kind of family. Guessing my face was buried too deep in the MoJos to notice. I do remember a game room (precursor to video games, I think) and I'm pretty sure they had one of those "animal band" setups too.

For a middle class family (at best), we were pretty darn spoiled!
