Fishing river mouths for coho gets interesting. Apparently rain trumps tides and they shoot upstream. (Next day no fish) Next incoming tide brings more fish into the river. Next rain brings these upstream etc etc.

Right Kevin. They can hang out near a river mouth for a hundred tide cycles waiting for a big rain, and all go at once. Steelhead do the same. None in the river (winter runs) until the first big freshet. The summer runs seem less sensitive.
