When you think you had a bad day

On my 10th annual successful cat fishing trip to Truman lake with Fishing Guide Jeff Faulkenberry the day started out beautiful as usual. Caught a nice one then decided to move, skimmed across the shallow water watching his graph with the marked paths of his travel hundreds of other times in the past then BAMM! The hidden stump breaking off the scagg and bending the prop shaft. Bad day under normal circumstances but his new 200 HP motor only had 5 hours on it. Limped back to the ramp and sent Jeff off with his broken spirit and motor. Sending prayers that all could be repaired for him to fish another day. Prayers for my friend please. Check him out on line Jeff Faulkenberry Endless Season guide service Catfish, Crappie and Duck hunting.

Did that once in a borrowed boat. Inboard and hit a floating log. Took the lower unit off. Sick feeling reaching down and finding only broken metal. Feel for your guide. My 13 y.o. son in his life jacket of course swam to shore, 'bout a quarter mile to find someone to tow us back to ramp. Son is now 57 and this memory still turns my stomach.

Take it back to the marina and tell them you bought this motor because they are supposed to be truffer than that and your need it fixed right away 😂 or it's going to be bad advertisement when you tell your clients you just bumped a stump and this is what happened 👍👍

That's why it's always good to have a friend with a boat
