what are the front runners in each party afraid of?

once again the front runner in the republican party will not take part in the candidate debate, and the front runner in the democrat party will not debate any of the democrat candidates. My question is if a candidate is unwilling to stand up before the nation and debate and defend their position and record in contrast to who is running against them, are they worthy of your v**e in the primary and or the e******n? I understand the reason front runners will not debate because they don't feel they need to and they don't want to expose themselves to some error in the debate that would negatively impact their e******n chances, BUT isn't that admitting they may not be the best person for the job? Isn't that an admission they have something to hide or hold a position the public would not accept? Isn't it a sign of weakness that they can not defend their record or position? I'm not asking for a debate here about which candidate is the better candidate but who ever the candidate is shouldn't they participate in the debates to give the public a chance to compare all candidates side by side?

once again the front runner in the republican part... (show quote)

As of now, neither would get my backing until I hear what they have to say on a debate.

As much as I dislike Joe Biden there is really no point. I don’t think an incumbent President has ever been successfully challenged. Besides, we all know what he stands for right? Is anyone really expecting a surprise revelation or not expecting him to say what he thinks his v**ers want to hear?
As for Trump, why expose himself to candidates who are polling at 3% and would all focus on attacking him. Really no point when he’s polling +60%. Again we all know where he stands on the issues so why?
These 2 will likely be the candidates regardless of debates. 2 very different philosophies on the direction America should be heading so I honestly can’t even see independents being undecided, one way or the other. Thanks

Now a Biden Trump debate I would love to see!!! Not because I’m undecided but purely for entertainment. 😁
Not an attack on anyone just my thoughts.

but here is the deal it is far from certain Biden will be the democratic nominee the age clock is ticking and it has nor been good on Biden. Trump??? yes it does look like he may be the nominee but it is not a done deal for him either. I think he owns it to those he will nee to win the general to get on the stage with DeSantis, Scott, Hailey and Pence to clearly define the differences and why he thinks he is still is the best nominee with all his baggage and his age

I agree.

In Trump's case, it appears that he's afraid that he will have to take a position or explain his plan to achieve his wild claims.

Where in Biden’s case we’re all afraid he’ll achieve his wild claims.

I think anyone that pays any attention at all knows what trump stands for what he believes in and what his plans are the democrats aint done anything but run him down with false accusations since he’s came in the picture and cost him hard telling how much just trying to defend himself he’s leading by almost 50 points why should he waste time and money flying around to argue with the other bunch trying to get in if you want to hear his plans, opinions, or what he plans on doing he has already shown everyone but if that’s not enough he has speeches about every other day somewhere youns can tune in to
