Hello, o wise ones. Branching out (for me) and experimenting with spinner baits like this one. I’ve had some beginner’s luck pairing the white with a Keitech paddle tail in green pumpkin. What are some other combos and for what type of light and water clarity? Also, I say beginner’s luck because it’s hard for me to tell a strike from a bump from a weed. Do you all have any tips re: that? I’m bank fishing, mostly ponds. Thank you!

Hi Betsy.
I use keitech 3"+ white or sight flash or sexy shad. They have a 2" that should do well on small spinner baits
n zman die zel 4" in
Smokey Shad color.

Use them more on under spin jigs.
They should work fine on spinner baits.

Good luck SIS 👍🎣😊

I used alot of paddle tails at the Eagle.
The Z-man die zel 4" worked well for Bob n I at Curtis Bay (Solley)

If it ain’t chartreuse it ain’t no use is what I was taught.

I like to cut the sides of a white paddle tail as my trailer. I’ll add a pick after work. Makes it swim erratically and seems to get more bites.

Tight lines

Might be the picture but it appears the hook is bent?? I always try a variety of colors to see what's working that day.

Thank you. I think it’s just the angle of the photo…I’ll check (it’s in my tackle bag, in the car).

Not many Pike around here.
Would be nice.

Potomac n Susquehanna River primary small mouth. The lake a mix of LM n SM. I like the power of the Susquehanna smallies 👍

I mainly use white spinner bait with a white trailer. I happen to have a bunch of the old Mister Twister bodies that I use for trailers, usually 2 or 3 inches. Sometimes when no getting hits I will experiment with different colors and/or sizes, both spinner bait and trailer. If you purchase just the plastic bodies, they are pretty cheap. The Walmart around here also have bass size spinner baits really cheap as well. Don't be afraid to change things if you need to. Good luck Betts.

I've found using spinners or crank baits or even swim baits that a tick or bump dont set the hook as you will just pull it away from the fish. Sometimes you'll get a reaction strike but usually just keep cranking. If you get a hookup you'll know it! Like trolling for Stripers. The trick is to know if it's a hookup or a snag. I've called snag only to find it swimming off as I reeled back to the "snag".
