Any recent activity on the Yuba off of the Hwy 20 corridor?? Thinking of making a trip up their tomorrow.
Thanks!
You may not flyfish but "Kiene's Flyfishing Forum" on internet based from store in Sacto has specific current information on the net about all norcal rivers.

I fish below the Hwy 20 bridge from time to time, and do best in the deeper pools with heavy nymphs -- like 3.5mm tungsten bead perdigons, often in PMD (brown) colors. There's a good PMD hatch on the lower Yuba, so they're in the water. Trick there I've found is getting into the deeper water that might still be moving pretty damn fast -- hence the heavy nymphs. I don't think they stock that river around there, so those are wild trout with a fair bit of fishing pressure -- not the easiest place to catch trout, but fun and there are some nice ones in there.
There's at least one good fly shop in Grass Valley -- don't know the name of it -- i'm sure they could give you the low down on hatches and what to try.
Good luck.
Thank you for that information!! I ended up fishing the American River that day but I will use your advice soon on the Yuba.
