Hey folks, just got back from GA and fishing in Blue Ridge on the Toccoa river. The water was so low fishing wasn't good at all. I'm in Salvo NC and will try the surf in the AM and kayak fish the sound in the afternoon. Any suggestions on whats biting and what bait is being used, I'll also hit the local bait shop this morning. I do know that its open season on flounder.... surf is a little rough today.
Red drum, whiting , maybe blues,
Are your best bet. Might find some specks. I usually cast net finger mullet from the surf or sound side. You can always throw shrimp.
Thanks, will be in the surf in the AM then on the sound after lunch. We will see what happens.
