I’m Captain D, retired airline pilot and I love to CATCH fish! Maybe someone can help with locations and perfect lures to catch sandies, stripers, catfish, largemouth or anything that’s biting!?! Thanks in advance. Dave

Welcome to FS, Dave! Are you bank or boat fishing? I fish mostly for bass and like Gulp worms or Senko type plastic worms. What lake do you fish? What airline did you fly for? My younger brother is a flight attendant for Southwest.

HIS name is Mark;
He lives in Littleton, Colorado and I think he flies out of Denver.
The only lake in Oklahoma I’ve ever fished is Grand Lake, and that was when I was a kid. My favorite place to fish is the Strip Pits in SE Kansas, near Columbus. I also like farm ponds.

I really enjoy Lake Murray. I would fish it more often if I could find a place I like to stay. In the north end you will find LMB. The smallies hang out around the rocks in the south end. I see trot lines along the channel so I guess that’s where the cats are. No clue for the sandies. I catch them by mistake.

I'll be at Lake Murray the first weekend of October doing some kayak fishing so if you make it before then and can give me any pointers I would definitely appreciate that... I'll do the same!

Hi Capt D , I am also from Wilson . Usually this time of year trolling for the Sandbass around the south end and dam of Murray is good . Troll some Rattle Traps blue back chrome . That should get you on them . Other than that they are hard to pattern . But I tell you.Arbuckle lake is full of the Sandies . South end of it and just keep an eye out for them schooling .

I'm going to be there this weekend...anyone recently been and got any other pointers than what's already been mentioned? I'm coming from West Texas so it's my first real go at clear water bass fishing, but I'm super excited to get out there and give it the ol college try! Thanks.

Live in Healdton. Been fishing Nocona and Bridgeport Tx. quite a bit. Haven't been on Murray in about 10 years. Is north ramp still good to go? How low is the lake? Healdton lake ramp is so bad I won't get on the lake due to low water.
