Will settle for this one. As I tried delicately to remove hook, he/she started making turtle sounds I didnt know turtles made.

I think I got cussed in Turtle talk before he got tossed back in the pool

Only one time I hooked a turtle and always thought it was an oddity until I joined the Stage and found out it happens often and then I started reading the posts from NJBands and I almost think it would be fun to be in a place where I could go turtle fishing.😁

Thought I was in a school of sunfish/perch. He was pecking at it like smaller fish do.
So I showed great patience, unusual for me, and let him nibble before setting hook.
Knew something was amiss when it didn't act like a caught fish...more like reeling in a rock.

Yup. It was an experience for me for sure. A real surprise.

ive caught a few sliders up in the north fla lakes,, usualy they are snagged. Best reptilian catch was a five foot gator on a top water frog.......:)

I think when I saw it was a Gator, that thing would become the new owner of said lure. I'd just have to go out and buy a new one. Cheaper than a prosthetic arm, I reckon!

Snapper is good stewed, fried, and grilled. I have eaten gator, but some one else caught and prepared it. East Tennesseans love eating gator tale when Florida comes to Knoxville
