Is there somewhere in the mountains with a mile or two hike that I will have a decent chance to catch fish? Scenery with changing aspens would be a bonus since this is September. I have had pathetic luck fishing this summer and haven't yet started fly fishing. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I'm located in the Denver area and not afraid to drive.

11 mile reservoir west of Colorado Springs. It’s near town called Lake George.
I meant Lake George, Colorado
I have had luck this year at Gramby, Shadow Mountain, Colorado River from State Bridge Up and Down River, Eleven Mile Res is always a good go to so is Stage Couch Res.
Is the Colorado River at state Bridge open to the public or private property? I have never been to Stage Coach Res. Any advice on how to fish it?
The Colo River at Bridge is open to the public. Try Fishing deep water on back side and alone any deep areas. Sucker meet or Night Crawlers will catch fish .
The last is at Stage Couch
I decided to try 11 Mile and rented a boat for 4 hours. Any advice? I don't care it it's pike or Trout. I'm thinking jointed rapalla, spoons or kastmasters.
All are good take some sucker meat and tip your gear with it .Good luck and have fun.
I suppose they'll have that at the marina. Thank You
I would take some with me. You have some great bait shops around Thornton.
I wanted to report back from the 11 mile trip. I caught 4 strong fat rainbows in the 21" range but only landed one. Two broke the 6lb leader I was using and one got the sinker wedged around a rock and broke off. All of these fish stripped line off at will with multiple runs and showed no sign of tiring. Three hit crawlers and the one I landed was on a pike colored 1/4oz Castmaster. The boat rental fell through due to a mix-up, but shore fishing was great. Thanks for the recommendation.
I am happy that it worked out good
